Every search runs licence and permit registries, live location data, municipal open data, federal business records, institutional rosters and curated trade data at the same time — nationally, across every US state.
A mix of public records and our own research, reconciled into one row per real business, then ranked against your brand. Each source fails soft: if one registry is unreachable, the search still returns, and the results still show which sources confirmed each row.

The registry is larger than the twelve above — state professional-licensing boards, a national provider registry and a bulk location extract also sit in it. Which layers a search uses is decided by your industry, and every industry keeps at least six.
Coverage
National, not a pilot region
Federal layers guarantee all-state coverage even where state licence data is legally excluded or simply never published.
Several states restrict or withhold their licence files. The federal layers — permits, small-business lending, food assistance, exempt organisations, institutional rosters — cover the gap, so a search in a closed state still returns a real list rather than an apology.
Errata
The government’s own file disagrees with itself
Federal permit data contains source typos. This is a real one, still in the file.
A permit filed with a Juneau, Alaska street address carries a ZIP code that belongs to Bellingham, Washington — roughly 900 miles and one international border apart. Two fields, one record, no agreement.
Account Finder assigns state from the premises ZIP, consistently, and shows you the record it used. We would rather publish the rule and the conflict than quietly pick a state and let you find out on the call.

Three-tier literacy
In five states, the state is the wholesaler
Control states are flagged automatically. There, the right play is a state listing plus brokers, not a cold distributor pitch — and a tool that doesn’t know that will point your territory manager at a wholesaler who legally cannot buy from them.
The ranking engine also knows the difference between a distributor, a broker and a retail account, so the three tiers never get mixed into one undifferentiated list.
